Did you ever read something great on the web and want to share it, only to discover that there were no sharing buttons to be found? Sure you could copy the URL, switch to Facebook, and paste it in, but that’s kind of a pain. And if you wanted to share it to your Facebook Page, copying and pasting was your only option.
But there is actually a much simpler way, and it’s something you add to your browser. It’s called the “Share on Facebook Bookmarklet.” I use it all the time on my own browser. It’s added to the bookmarks bar of your favorite browser, and any time you see something you want to share, you just click it. A Facebook share window opens, allowing you to share to your Profile, or any Page you own.
Here’s how to add the Share on Facebook Bookmarklet to your browser.
- Click here: https://www.facebook.com/share_options.php?pwstdfy=50532ecf1540d514d313ce39ededa1e1. The Share Bookmarklet window appears.

- You’ll see the “Share on Facebook” button with the arrow pointing to it. Click that and drag it up to your browser bookmark bar.

- You’ll now have a Share on Facebook link on your toolbar. To use it, navigate to the Page you want to share, and click the “Share on Facebook” button on your browser. The Share This Link window appears. Notice that you can by default share to your Profile, but by clicking you can select another place to share instead.

- Type a message to go along with your post, and then click Share Link. That’s it!
Now if you’d like to do the same on Twitter, HootSuite has a “Hootlet” that can be used that does the same thing. In HootSuite, just click the “Tools” link and you can drag the Hootlet to your bookmarks bar, the same way you did with the Share on Facebook bookmarklet.

So now that you know how easy it is to share web pages on Facebook and Twitter, get busy and share some valuable content with your followers. Why not start with this article? Have fun!
