Don’t buy another book about social media.
Don’t buy another course.
Too many training pieces we purchase go unused, getting dusty on shelves (actual or virtual.)
The best way to learn social media is to get out there and do it.
Start with Facebook. Log on. Start talking to people.
You don’t have to be an “expert” to do social media. You just need to talk to people (like a person, not a commercial.)
Before you spend another dime, build relationships. It will pay off dramatically in the long run.

Another great article. Straight to the point. We all have our share of “shelf help… yes, I said, shelf help” books. Big LOL
P.S.
I posted this on Facebook too.
Jennifer,
I read so much junk out there about social networking. Consider this my highest compliment: you are spot on.
I think many people fail because they READ too much. Taking ACTION is so much more effective.
I appreciate it Greg!
Jennifer – I could not agree more – the one thing that I do find beneficial is blogs and newsletters like yours, as well as in Victoria we have a social media club that meets once a month – i get so much great information from, guess what, networking – in person and online!
Thanks for always pointing out the obvious!
Short, sweet and to the point. RIGHT ON Jennifer!
Just do it.
Love & Success,
Jill Shea
You nail it on the head Jennifer. I also tell people – stop listening, start doing. You can’t mess it up if you just engage:)
