Sometimes, when I write posts about a concept like blogging, I get questions about how to do a certain element of it. And since I’ve been writing this blog for a while, chances are your question has been answered at some point along the way. So today’s post is a big of a navigation lesson…how do you find the content you’re looking for here?
Here’s a handy little post I wrote the end of last year that categorized some of the more helpful posts I wrote in 2009: http://www.jenfongspeaks.com/how-to-use-social-media-for-your-direct-sales-or-network-marketing-business/ Note that this ONLY gives you content from last year, but there’s still a lot of value there. I’ll do another compilation post for 2010 at the end of this year.
If what you’re looking for is lots of information around a given topic, you may want to browse the posts by Categories, found in the right sidebar of the blog. Scroll down under the NetworkedBlogs box, and you’ll find them. You can click on any of the categories there and get an entire list of posts I’ve written on that topic.
If you’re looking for something specific, you may want to use the Search function on the blog. It’s the first thing you’ll find at the top of the right sidebar of the blog. I actually use this function a lot myself, when I’m looking for a specific post. Just type in a word or phrase, and you’ll get a whole list of related posts.
And by the way, use these techniques for all the blogs you visit. Most blogs are a goldmine, and yet most people barely scratch the surface. I’ve added the Related Posts widget that provides that list of posts after each article when you visit the actual site of my blog (vs. an email or reader) with the intent of helping you dig a little deeper. But you may be missing out on all the great stuff!
When visiting your favorite blogs, take the time to dig a little deeper. You’ll be glad you did!
