I Can't Believe I Stayed Up Until Midnight For This

myFBURLBut I did.  I stayed up until 12:01 am, participated in the Facebook land rush, and got my name as my Facebook URL.  You can now find my Facebook profile at http://facebook.com/jenniferfong. Apparently, 200,000 users registered their names in the 1st 3 minutes. I’m such a geek.  But at least I’m a geek with a branded Facebook URL.  LOL

Goodnight! 🙂

I was so honored to be on your ‘social media’ conference call tonight from Sacramento, CA. I took 12 pages of notes and you did a great job. My who view on social media has forever changed, thanks to you and Belinda. Make it a great day.

I’m in the UK and I can’t believe I got up at 4.50am to do the exact same thing! Especially as my name is unique wen you google me – just the fear of loss was unbearable and I do like to be at the cutting edge of these things wherever possible!

I now have the full set: facebook, twitter, friendfeed, blogs and youtube using my first and surname.

Anyway, maybe I’m a geek but it was the most exciting party I’ve ever been too knowing so many people around the world were all looking at the same countdown clock as me!
Something to tell the grandchildren about one day I’m sure 😉

Wow, 200,000 users in the first 3 minutes – amazing! And the system didn’t crash…wow.

Likewise. I was up this morning. I think the rush is more important for people with more common names. I’m sure names like marysmith were snapped up in a hurry.

Like getting your own name as a .com, it can be a challenge if you wait too long.

When I registered mine, I observed that http://www.facebook.com/GrahamGudgin http://www.facebook.com/grahamgudgin and http://www.facebook.com/graham.gudgin all work exactly the same. Which is a good thing.

You are so funny Jennifer! I just signed up for mine this morning ~7am. Of course, I wasn’t too worried about getting mine…considering I’ve googled my name before and I’m the only Eryn Cadoff who exists. 🙂 So I’m now:

    Jennifer,
I don’t think you’re a geek! LOL I think you were just “practicing what you teach” and was very smart (although, sleepy, too…LOL) to stay up and make the mad rush! I, also, stayed up and made sure that I branded myself with my own Facebook URL! Mine is: http://facebook.com/helenaskins and I made doggone sure to get it, too! Sad to say, but there will be a lot of disappointed people tomorrow and later on who did not heed the information in your earlier article, “Protecting Your Trademarks in Social Media.”
