Live Blogging from Vero Beach Learn & Earn Direct Selling Fair

This morning I had the opportunity to speak on the topic of “What is Direct Selling?” at the Learn & Earn Direct Selling Fair at Indian River State College in Vero Beach, FL. This event, sponsored by the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF), is designed to introduce the public to all that direct sales can do. It’s such a privilege to be a part of it!

Here’s a quick video intro to show you some of the fun!

Update 11:48am

I’m having so much fun meeting the incredible direct sellers here at the Learn & Earn Direct Selling Fair. We’ve had a wonderful opportunity to highlight the benefits of direct selling for the community here.

My friend and DSEF Director of Marketing & Communications, Nancy Laichas, interviewed Blair Critch, an independent direct seller with Stella & Dot. She talks about her experience as a direct seller, and how her husband became a big supporter of her business. Check it out!

Update 3/27

So I didn’t get these up until after we got home (had to head to the airport) but here are two more great interviews I’d like you to see. The first is with Donn Miller-Kermani, who is the Director of the Women’s Business Center in Melbourne, FL.

And here’s an interview with Jan Pagano, who is the director of the Florida Small Business Development Center at Indian River State College. Check it out!

It was such a blast meeting so many amazing people at the Learn & Earn Direct Selling Fair. What impressed me so much about the direct sellers I met was how they really work as a team, despite being with different companies. They were so supportive of one another’s businesses. This is a testament to the type of people that work in direct sales.

I was also impressed with the people who are committed to helping our next wave of entrepreneurs get the skills they need to succeed. From the Small Business Development Center to the Women’s Business Center, there are resources out there to help you get the skills you need. And they are convinced that direct selling is one incredible way to learn some of those skills. They want people considering being entrepreneurs to know about the direct sales option.

Thanks for reading and watching this live blog. It was the first time I’ve done something like this, and I really had a blast.

Jennifer, it was so wonderful to meet you today at the Indian River State College Earn & Learn Direct Sellers Fair!

When people think of direct selling, I think the main focus is on Product, Pay and Presentation. And rightly so. But my main experience today was not What, Where or Why – it was the Energy that flowed through the event!

So often overlooked is the Personal Growth that takes place when one choses a product line that ultimately becomes an extension of their life. The training, relationships and experience you gain as a direct seller ultimately mold you into being the best possible version of yourself.

At today’s event, I found myself surrounded by the Energy, Confidence & Pride that comes from owning your own business. It’s the hidden gift you won’t see in your start-up kit – but you will see in your mirror!
