The Benefits of Shopping with a Direct Seller

As you read this, I’m on an airplane on my way to Vero Beach, FL. I’ve been invited by the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF) to participate in the Earn & Learn Direct Selling Fair at Richardson Center, Mueller Campus, Indian River State College, 6155 College Lane on Friday, March 25, 2011.

This free event is an opportunity for people to learn about direct selling and the skills you need to succeed, meet local direct sellers, and find out about opportunities to join some of the amazing companies in our industry. (Who do you know in the area that might be interested? Let them know!)

I’ll be presenting on the topic of “What is Direct Selling?” and will be highlighting the many benefits of buying from direct sellers, as well as joining a direct sales company.

My session is at 9am, and I really hope you’ll join us if you’re in the area! (There may or may not be prizes…just sayin…) 🙂

You know, as I put together my presentation, it really got me to thinking. Are we highlighting the benefits to our customers of shopping with a direct seller (YOU) as opposed to shopping in a big box store? Think about all they get:
  • Support of a local business (and therefore, your local economy)
  • The BEST quality products
  • The opportunity to try before buying
  • Personal attention from someone who knows the product line intimately (try getting THAT in a big box store)
  • Follow-up with an emphasis on customer satisfaction
  • The store comes to them!

The choice to shop with you involves far more than just a look at what something costs. You bring a level of service that is far too often neglected today, and that makes a customer’s experience superior.

When you work with customers, be sure you are highlighting all the benefits of working with you. It goes so far beyond a single product or transaction. But it’s up to us to call it out, so customers are aware of all the benefits you bring.

Do you highlight the benefits of shopping with you? What “extras” do you bring to a shopping experience? Would love to read your thoughts in the comments.

And I’d love to see you in Vero Beach this Friday, too, if you’re in the area! Let me know in the comments if you’ll be there!
