I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we decide what success looks like, and then get locked into that pattern. This is the income, this is the lifestyle. And then when something happens that bursts that dream apart (the loss of a job, a home, death of a loved one, etc.) it becomes very hard to move on, because we’re also grieving the loss of that dream.
I believe that there is significant abundance in store for each of us. But if we force that concept into the small boxes that we’ve created for it, we may miss out on all that’s available.
We need to let go of our preconceived notions of abundance, and open ourselves to what the universe may be putting into our path. Every day, if you’re open to it, small possibilities present themselves. It might be a crazy (or not so crazy) idea. It may be a small (or large) opportunity. But what we do is we weigh that idea or opportunity against our preconceived notions of what life should be, and then we fail to act. And then we miss out on what that could have led to.
What opportunity is your business presenting to you today? Is something holding you back from going for it?
So many people have lost their jobs, their homes, their self-esteem, and they’re grieving not only the losses, but also the whole concept of what their life should be. Today I urge each of you to let go of what you’ve decided life SHOULD be, and stay open to the opportunities. Because there is more for every single person. And that “more” will allow you to touch more lives and do more good in the world.
