We spend a lot of time talking about how to reach customers through social media. And we hope we can find new recruits, but we’re not always sure how to do that. Why is it that some people easily build their team through social media, while others struggle?
I think one of the keys to successful team building online is momentum. You probably have a successful leader in your field with whom you are connected on Facebook. If they’re tech savvy and building, watch how they use Facebook for team building. Chances are, they spend a lot of time celebrating there. They cheer for their own achievements, those of their team members, and those of other people in the company. When exciting things happen for the company, they can barely contain their enthusiasm.
And you know what? That level of enthusiasm attracts people without them having to do a single recruiting pitch. Because people like to be on the “winning team.” They want to be part of the excitement.
When you demonstrate that exciting things are happening, and you are ascending the ranks yourself, you are making the dream real for others. And that is what draws recruits.
Think about how you use Facebook. Are you a steady stream of asks and ads? Or are you demonstrating genuine enthusiasm and forward motion? Are you celebrating others as well as yourself? Are you showing the world how exciting your company is, and how absolutely amazing it is to be a part of it?
Enthusiasm matters, and your progress makes the dream real for others. How can you put that to work for your business? Would love to read your thoughts in the comments!
