Using Social Media to Enhance Customer Service

Are you service oriented?

As a direct seller, one of the unique benefits you have the ability to offer to your customers and prospects is a high level of customer service.  Think about it…if a customer walks into a big box store, will the employee there understand her needs?  Will the employee understand the features and benefits of the product the customer is looking for?  Probably not.

So a unique selling point that you have to offer is your ability to provide a higher level of service than retail stores, thanks to the relationships you build with the customer.

Social media enhances your ability to provide great customer service to your clients.  Simply by paying attention to the people you’re connected with, you can find out a great deal about what’s important to them, and what they need.  You can find information on special events they have coming up, how many children they have, what they do for fun.  All of this information makes it easy for you to offer the products and features of the opportunity that make the most sense for that individual.

Then add to that the value you can provide through a content marketing strategy…providing tips and ideas related to your product or opportunity that customers can use right now without spending a dime.  So perhaps it’s recipes, or decorating ideas, or advice about working from home.  Information that people can use.  And they come to value you as the person providing that.  As a result, they are more likely to pay attention when you offer products or the opportunity.

So follow up, build relationships, and provide value.  This customer service oriented mindset will provide exceptional value to customers, and help you create long-term relationships that result in long-term business.
