What an amazing year 2009 has been! At the beginning of this year, very few direct selling and network marketing companies even had social media on their radar. Yet now there are very few companies in our industry that aren’t taking steps to integrate social media into their offerings. A big thank you to each and every one of you that’s been a part of this shift this year. It’s been so necessary for this industry to embrace social media in order to remain a viable opportunity for people, and I’m just thrilled to see the progress that we’ve made this year.
We’ve only just begun however. While a few companies have done a great job with strategic implementation of social media, along with successful field training, the vast majority are still just dipping their toes into the water. I think 2010 is going to be even more exciting as we really begin to lead the way in strategic planning, gathering data, measuring results, and training the sales force in the most successful ways to use social media.
I am planning to offer a free teleclass at the beginning of January called “There’s a Fortune To Be Made in Your Existing Customer Base: How to Generate Reorders and Rebookings Using Social Media.” We’ll cover how to use social media to generate more and more orders from all those customers you’ve met through this busy holiday season. Keep an eye on this blog for all the details, which will be forthcoming. This class is my New Year’s gift to all of you, my loyal readers, who have made this journey such a wonderful one for me personally. I am blessed to have such an incredible network of folks that I’ve met through social media and this incredible industry.
Many of you know that this has been a very busy few months for me as well. I’ve had the immense privilege of traveling around the country (and even into Canada), helping direct sales companies create and implement social media strategies, speaking at leadership conferences, national conventions, and industry events, creating field and employee training for companies, and more. I’m taking a few weeks off now to spend some quality time with my family, and plan some great things for 2010.
For the rest of 2009, I’ll be featuring some of my personal favorite posts on this blog. Depending on when you started reading, these will be new posts to you, or serve of reminders as you plan your own social media efforts for 2010. And if you haven’t seen it yet, I invite you to check out this How To: Use Social Media for Your Direct Sales or Network Marketing Business post that I compiled recently. It’s got lots of these articles organized by category, to make it really easy for you to find the info you need.
A very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year, and every other winter holiday to you! Thank you again for being part of this blog family. I raise my glass to you!
